In September, Apple unveiled the USB-C-enabled AirPods Pro 2, aiming to align all its devices with USB Type-C compatibility. Now, they’ve launched a standalone USB-C charging case for the AirPods Pro 2 in India.
This addition caters to users owning the prior AirPods Pro 2 model with a Lightning port, allowing for a seamless transition to USB-C without the need to purchase an entirely new product.
AirPods Pro 2 USB-C Charging Case: Pricing and Availability
The MagSafe charging case (USB-C) for the AirPods Pro 2 is available for Rs 9,900 and is now listed on Apple’s Indian website.
While this might bring relief to recent buyers of the Lightning port-enabled AirPods Pro 2 seeking a USB-C charging case, there’s a significant issue: the price. The cost of the charging case seems high, especially for an upgrade that primarily offers a USB Type-C port. As someone who acquired the original AirPods Pro 2 six months ago, I’ve chosen to stick with the original charging case, considering the minimal difference in functionality.
However, if you’re inclined to upgrade, the product is currently available for purchase. Yet, according to the website, shipments are scheduled between January 6 and January 18, 2024. The pickup option at Apple Saket is presently unavailable. Additionally, there’s an EMI option starting at Rs 1,723 per month.
