Seven, a startup in the consumer electronics industry, has launched the 7 Ring smart ring in India. This new wearable comes with a notable feature, allowing users to make contactless payments. Now, let’s delve into the details.
7 Ring: Specifications and Features
The 7 Ring smart wearable is crafted with Zirconia Ceramic, providing scratch resistance for both durability and style. It boasts an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, and users can select from the available 7 size options.
Equipped with NFC (near-field communication), the device ensures stable connectivity without the need for Bluetooth. Notably, it supports a convenient payment technology, enabling users to make contactless payments with a single tap. For transactions below Rs 5,000, there is no requirement for a wallet, phone, app, PIN, or OTP.
To complete a payment using the 7 Ring, simply place your hand with the ring on the POS machine, and the transaction will be executed. This ring operates passively, drawing power from the POS machine, eliminating the need for its own battery and charging. The 7 Ring supports UPI, LivQuik, M2P, and more.
Vijay Khubchandani, Founder and CEO of Seven, expressed excitement about the innovation, stating, “We are very excited to talk about our new innovation as 7 Ring is the first of its kind in India, offering a seamless and secure payment experience to our customers. The 7 Ring smart ring, with its chic design, durability, and convenient payment capabilities, represents the perfect blend of style and technology, catering to the needs of modern consumers.”
The 7 Ring comes with a companion app by Seven, facilitating easy management of the smart ring. The app includes features such as a prepaid wallet, passbook, and more. Not only is it convenient, but the design of the ring also makes it less prone to fraud, enhancing both environmental-friendliness and safety. It’s noteworthy that the 7 Ring is proudly made in India.
