With the holiday season approaching, OpenAI is set to roll out exciting new AI tools and features. Over the next 12 days, the ChatGPT creator will launch new AI products and experiences, including the highly anticipated Sora text-to-video model, according to The Verge.
At The New York Times’ DealBook conference, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman announced that the company will unveil new products and demos over the next 12 days. Altman also shared on X, “🎄🎅 starting tomorrow at 10 am Pacific, we are doing 12 days of OpenAI.”
In addition to Sora, OpenAI is expected to release the larger o1 reasoning model and potentially move it out of preview. However, it remains uncertain if the company will introduce a successor to the GPT-4o model. Earlier reports speculated that OpenAI might launch Orion also known as GPT-5 before the end of the year, but OpenAI denied these claims.
Some testers have also discovered that OpenAI is preparing a Santa-inspired voice for ChatGPT, and the voice mode button might receive a snowflake-themed design. In recent days, OpenAI employees have hinted at a “shipmas” tree, suggesting upcoming product launches and exciting new demos.
With OpenAI’s official confirmation, it looks like we’re in for 12 days of continuous product and feature releases. I’m also anticipating the potential reveal of Operator, OpenAI’s AI-powered agentic system, though we’ll need official confirmation for that.
