Cipher is one of the demi-gods in Amphoreus, the newest region in Honkai Star Rail, and a Chrysos Heir from Dolos. She holds the core flame of Zagreus, the Titan of Trickery, and is set to arrive in the 3.3 update. According to leaks, Cipher is expected to be a Nihility character with the Quantum damage type. However, unlike most Nihility characters, who focus on DoT or debuffing, Cipher’s kit is centered around Follow-up Attacks (FUA) and True Damage. Recent Reddit leaks suggest that Cipher could become the next Meta Support or Sub-DPS for Feixiao FUA teams in Honkai Star Rail.
Cipher’s Is a True Damage FUA DPS
According to a recent leak from Seele Leaks on Reddit, Cipher is a Quantum Nihility Follow-up Attack DPS in Honkai Star Rail. She has the ability to inflict the ‘Fortold’ status on enemies, which records the damage received by that enemy from her attacks as a “Wealth Bond.”
When Cipher uses her Ultimate on the marked target, she deals True damage equal to the recorded damage from the Wealth Bond on that enemy.
When an ally attacks the marked enemy, Cipher instantly performs a Follow-up Attack on that enemy, dealing Quantum damage based on her Attack stat. The number of Follow-up Attacks she can execute resets every time she uses her Ultimate.
Additionally, Cipher’s leaked Trace 1 ability decreases the Defenses of all enemies by a percentage while she is on the field.
Cipher’s Leaked Kit Makes Her Perfect for Feixiao
Cipher’s kit is perfect for Feixiao teams in Honkai Star Rail because both characters revolve around Follow-up Attacks. Feixiao triggers Follow-up Attacks when allies attack enemies, and Cipher’s abilities enhance these attacks by increasing the Follow-up Attacks executed by both herself and Feixiao when she is on the team.
Additionally, Feixiao charges her Ultimate based on the number of attacks from her allies, which makes her particularly strong when paired with other Follow-up attacking characters. Cipher’s multiple Follow-up attacks not only complement Feixiao’s playstyle but also act as a battery for her, boosting her energy generation and making her even more potent in battle.
A big reason why Cipher and Feixiao may have great synergy is that Cipher can record a percentage of the damage dealt by Feixiao on the marked enemy, which becomes significantly higher since Feixiao is an SS-tier DPS in Honkai Star Rail. Cipher can then deal a percentage of Feixiao’s damage as True Damage, which completely ignores enemy resistance.
This synergy could easily make the Cipher-Feixiao duo one of the strongest in the game. Feixiao teams are already considered among the best in Honkai Star Rail, and this combination might secure the Follow-up Attack (FUA) meta for a long time. However, for now, we can only wait, as Cipher is rumored to be released in the Honkai Star Rail 3.3 update, which is expected sometime in late May 2025.
