The Best Bunker Locations In GTA Online (Ranked)

In GTA Online, you and your crew can dive into various criminal ventures, and Gunrunning is one of the most profitable. To kick things off, you’ll need to invest in a Bunker an underground facility that serves as the hub for your weapons manufacturing operation. Bunkers offer features like a shooting range, vehicle storage, and most importantly, the equipment needed for arms production. With 11 different bunkers available on the map, picking the right one can be overwhelming. Here’s a ranking of the best bunker locations in GTA Online to help you choose.

Best Bunker Locations in GTA Online

Since all 11 bunkers function identically and their layout is entirely player-dependent, location becomes a crucial factor. Ideally, you want a bunker close to Los Santos, as you’ll frequently travel there for gunrunning sales and resupply missions. With that in mind, here’s our ranking of all 11 bunker locations in GTA Online, based on convenience, profitability, and strategic value:

11. Raton Canyon Bunker

  • Location: Situated between the Calafia Road Bridge and the Calafia Train Bridge near Raton Canyon
  • Price: $1,450,000

Coming in at dead last is the Raton Canyon Bunker and for good reason. It’s located far from the city, which makes frequent trips to Los Santos a hassle. The dense trees and rocky terrain further complicate navigation, making land travel a chore. On top of that, landing air vehicles here is nearly impossible, which severely limits your mobility. While it’s one of the cheaper options, the inconvenience just isn’t worth the savings you’re better off investing your money in a more accessible location.

10. Paleto Forest Bunker

  • Location: Just before Paleto Cove, near Paleto Forest
  • Price: $1,165,000

In terms of location, the Paleto Forest Bunker is easily one of the worst options for setting up shop in GTA Online. Tucked away on the northwestern edge of the map, it’s a long trek from the city making sales and resupply missions time-consuming. While its remote setting means fewer run-ins with griefers, the overall inconvenience outweighs the peace and quiet.

The only reason it doesn’t rank dead last is its price. It’s the cheapest bunker in the game, and you can even snag it for free if you purchase the Criminal Enterprise Starter Pack. That makes it a tempting starter choice, but long-term? It’s far from ideal.

9. Grapeseed Bunker

  • Location: Just west of McKenzie Field airstrip
  • Price: $1,750,000

Nestled in the peaceful region of Blaine County, the Grapeseed Bunker is ideal for those who prefer a quiet environment. Surrounded by scenic views and with Mount Chiliad looming in the background, it’s certainly a relaxing spot. Plus, having an airstrip nearby adds to its utility. However, its northern location works against it being far from Los Santos makes resupply and sales missions more time-consuming. If profit and efficiency are your main goals, it’s best to look elsewhere.

8. Lago Zancudo Bunker

  • Location: Just west of Fort Zancudo
  • Price: $1,550,000

All things considered, the Lago Zancudo Bunker is a solid investment. While it’s situated a fair distance from Los Santos, its proximity to the main freeway makes travel efficient and relatively smooth. Plus, being right next to Fort Zancudo the military base known for its fighter jets adds a cool factor and strategic appeal.

However, this location isn’t without its downsides. The area tends to attract griefers due to the military base and overall activity in the region. If avoiding unnecessary PvP encounters is a priority for you, you might want to consider a quieter, less contested bunker location.

7. Route 68 Bunker

  • Location: North of Route 68, in the Grand Senora Desert
  • Price: $1,950,000

One of three bunkers near Sandy Shores airfield, the Route 68 Bunker is located in that area. While it offers convenient access to an airstrip, it’s slightly further from it than the other nearby bunkers, making it a slightly less efficient option. Still, for its price point, it offers a decent balance of isolation and accessibility without breaking the bank.

6. Grand Senora Oilfields Bunker

  • Location: Off a dead-end road near Joshua Road
  • Price: $2,035,000

This bunker is tucked deep into the desert, offering plenty of privacy and minimal interference from other players. Its close proximity to the Sandy Shores airfield is a big plus, especially for those relying on air transport. While it’s a strong choice overall, its steep price and distance from central Los Santos mean you’re paying more for peace than practicality.

5. Grand Senora Desert Bunker

  • Location: West side of Sandy Shores airfield
  • Price: $2,120,000

If you’re planning to spend big on a bunker near Sandy Shores, this one’s your best bet. Among the desert bunkers, the Grand Senora Desert Bunker is closest to the airstrip, making take-offs and landings super convenient. That said, like others in the area, it’s still a fair distance from Los Santos, so travel time remains a small drawback. It’s a strategic pick, just not the most city-accessible one.

4. Smoke Tree Road Bunker

  • Location: Grand Senora Desert, near Nowhere Road
  • Price: $2,205,200

One of the most popular picks in the game, the Smoke Tree Road Bunker is just far enough from Sandy Shores to give it a bit more solitude yet close enough for quick access. The landscape is also a bonus: scattered greenery and hilly silhouettes offer a stunning desert view, especially at sunset. Still, compared to the top three, it loses out when it comes to proximity to downtown Los Santos.

3. Farmhouse Bunker

  • Location: South of Boilingbroke Penitentiary
  • Price: $2,375,000

The Farmhouse Bunker is the most expensive location in GTA Online and for the most part, it lives up to that premium price. Centrally located, it sits near both the Senora and Los Santos Freeways, making trips to and from the city quick and efficient. Its secluded placement, surrounded by natural foliage, adds a layer of stealth and charm that many players appreciate.

However, this bunker isn’t without flaws. A frustrating in-game bug causes personal vehicles to spawn on the nearby freeway, often forcing you to trek a fair distance just to reach them. Considering the steep price tag, this inconvenience is hard to ignore and detracts from an otherwise top-tier location.

2. Thompson Scrapyard Bunker

  • Location: Northeast of the Thompson Scrapyard
  • Price: $2,290,000

This bunker gets high marks for its excellent location right beside the Los Santos Freeway making trips into the city smooth and fast. It’s also located in a relatively calm area, which reduces interference from other players. Plus, there’s just something cool about running an underground weapons operation out of a dusty old scrapyard. A fantastic mix of functionality and flair.

1. Chumash Bunker

  • Location: Just northwest of Barbareno Road on the map’s western edge
  • Price: $1,650,000

Claiming the top spot is the Chumash Bunker and for good reason. It’s the closest option to the city and sits right off the coast with a stunning ocean view. Despite its scenic setting, this bunker is all business. Quick access to Los Santos means faster missions and easier logistics. Surprisingly affordable and strategically superior, Chumash is the perfect balance between convenience, performance, and price.
