Dragon’s Dogma 2 is one of the most anticipated RPG games of 2024. Besides elements like the character creator, many gamers wonder if it has a proper fast-travel system. If you’re wondering if you can fast-travel in Dragon’s Dogma 2, keep reading.
“Does Dragon’s Dogma 2 Include Fast Travel?”
In the original Dragon’s Dogma, you couldn’t fast-travel. It wasn’t until the enhanced Dark Arisen version that Capcom addressed the fast-travel system.
Fortunately, it has been confirmed that Dragon’s Dogma 2 will have fast travelIn an interview with IGN, Hideaki Itsuno, a member of Capcom’s Dev 1 team and the series director, confirmed that Dragon’s Dogma 2 will indeed include fast-travel options. However, in classic Dragon’s Dogma fashion, it isn’t exactly how you’d think.
“How Does Fast Travel Function in Dragon’s Dogma 2?”
In the first Dragon’s Dogma, players had to buy Ferrystones to travel between major locations. These were finite resources costing around 2000 gold.
According to Hideaki Itsuno’s interview, this system is making a comeback. Except Dragon’s Dogma 2 is doubling down on exploration. Ferrystones are returning and will work as before. However, there’s a brand-new fast-traveling system where you can opt-in for cheaper Oxcart rides along certain routes.
Itsuno says Oxcarts have their own problems. One is that players using this system will be open to ambush from goblins and monsters.A Griffin could suddenly swoop in and destroy your Oxcart, forcing you to trek back to your destination on foot. The interview gives good reasons for under-reliance on the fast-travel system.
