Honkai Star Rail 2.0 New Characters

The Honkai Star Rail 2.0 update will introduce three new characters: Black Swan, Sparkle, and Misha. The recent drip marketing campaign showcased all three characters, and the 2.0 Livestream confirmed their inclusion in the update. Now, let’s delve into the details of the upcoming characters in Honkai Star Rail 2.0.

HSR Black Swan: Abilities, Lore, and Paths

Black Swan is a 5-star Nihility character specializing in Wind Damage. She is designed as a Damage over Time (DoT) character with a robust DPS (Damage Per Second) kit. Black Swan’s abilities are centered around afflicting enemies with Arcana, her specific debuff, causing DoT damage based on her Attack stat. The Arcana debuff can accumulate up to 50 times on an enemy, and the existing DoT instances contribute to inflicting additional Sacrament stacks.

In terms of lore, Black Swan holds the position of a Memokeeper in the Garden of Recollection. Apart from her official role, she is characterized by a warm smile and a patient demeanor, often attentively listening to the words of others and using them as a means to enter memories.

Sparkle: Abilities, Lore, and Paths

Sparkle is a Harmony character specializing in Quantum damage, making her the second limited 5-star Harmony character to be featured in Honkai Star Rail.

Functioning as a Skill point generator, Sparkle offers team-wide buffs to Crit Damage and Attack. Her Skill provides a Crit Damage Buff to a single ally and accelerates their action by 40%, akin to Bronya. The Ultimate and Talent abilities focus on recovering Skill points and enhancing allies based on the number of Skill points used. It’s evident that she will synergize well with teams featuring Dan Heng Inbibitor Lunae and Qingque. Sparkle is anticipated to become one of the top-tier characters in Honkai Star Rail.

In terms of lore, Sparkle is affiliated with the Masked Fools, aspiring to join the Genius Society. Described as a woman with countless masks and many faces, she is portrayed as a dangerous master of theatrics.

Misha: Abilities, Lore, and Paths

Misha is a 4-Star Destruction character specializing in Ice damage. His kit revolves around a potent multi-hit Ultimate attack, with a significant chance of freezing enemies. The number of hits from his Ultimate increases based on the number of skills he uses and the Skill points consumed by his allies. Misha is well-suited for a freeze team, where he can collaborate with Ruan Mei, Geopard, and Jingliu, consistently imposing delays on enemy actions.

In terms of lore, Misha serves as a bellboy at The Reverie Hotel in Penacony, displaying a penchant for sharing interstellar rumors with guests. Known for being hardworking and skilled at fixing various machines, Misha’s lineage is connected to an intergalactic adventurer his grandfather.

Honkai Star Rail 2.0 Light Cone Banners

The Honkai Star Rail 2.0 version will introduce two new 5-star signature light cones for Black Swan and Sparkle.

  • Reforged Remembrance: Boosts Effect Hit Rate and earns 1 stack of Prophecy (up to 4 stacks) when the wearer damages an enemy suffering from Wind Shear, Burn, Shock, or Bleed. Each type of Damage over Time (DoT) can contribute only 1 stack. Each Prophecy stack enhances the wearer’s Attack, and the inflicted DoT bypasses the target’s Defense.
  • Earthly Escapade: Raises the wearer’s Critical Damage and grants them Mask at the start of the battle. Once Mask is obtained, allies of the wearer experience heightened Critical Rate and Critical Damage for 4 turns. When the wearer replenishes Skill points, surpassing the limit, they acquire 1 stack of Fireworks. Accumulating 4 stacks of Fireworks transforms it into Mask.

Honkai Star Rail 2.0: Missions, Features & QoL Changes

In addition to the introduction of new characters and light cones, Honkai Star Rail 2.0 will usher in a host of new missions, events, game features, and quality-of-life (QoL) changes. Let’s take a brief overview of what lies ahead.

New World And Multiple New Explorable Locations

Honkai Star Rail 2.0 will unveil a completely new world known as Penacony, the Land of Dreams. Similar to Xianzhou Luofu and Jarillo-VI, Penacony will comprise multiple exploratory areas, gradually unlocking with each subsequent version. As per the latest information from the 2.0 HSR Livestream, Penacony will showcase a jazz-style theme.

Early leaks from Hiro suggest the presence of five new locations in Penacony, namely The Reverie Reality, Golden Hour, Dream’s Edge, A Child’s Dream, and The Reverie Dreamscape.

The areas are distinctly categorized into Reality and Dreamscape, hinting that the Reverie Hotel will serve as a gateway to the dreamland of Penacony. Each section of Penacony appears to be part of a vast interconnected dream, with the Reverie Hotel acting as a central hub. The promotional video for Penacony in Honkai Star Rail reinforces this concept.

The trailer features Clockie, voiced by Niko Gerentes, and Hamster Ball Knight, voiced by Jacob Craner, presenting a futuristic dream world where people’s desires come true if they have the means. Penacony is depicted as a fantastical realm with surreal and somewhat unsettling elements.

Additionally, Penacony will introduce a new travel mechanic and puzzles. Optical illusions will be employed for moving between areas, and leaks, as well as the aforementioned trailer, suggest the prevalence of vehicles, such as cars, as a common mode of transportation in Penacony.

New Villains, NPCs, and Trailblaze Missions

The HSR 2.0 version will introduce the initial Penacony Trailblaze missions. Alongside official information, a blend of leaks provides insights into new characters set to debut in Honkai Star Rail 2.0. Notably, a new antagonistic faction, The Ever-Flame Mansion Family, under the leadership of Duke Ifrit Inferno, is introduced.

Here is a comprehensive list of upcoming characters in the Penacony World:

Likely Villains and Bosses: Duke Inferno, Akash, Dubra, Caterina, Constance, Sam.

Notable NPCs and Potentially Future Playable Characters: Sunday, Robin, Misha, Firefly, Gallagher, Acheron, Black Swan, and Boothill.

The Penacony trailblaze missions are highly anticipated, and we’ll keep you updated with any new information as it becomes available.

New Enemy Types and Fight Mechanics

Honkai Star Rail 2.0 will introduce a variety of new enemies and fight mechanics. Leaks indicate the presence of peculiar trash can-like monsters among the new foes. This promises an interesting challenge for players engaging in the anticipated Penacony trash-can hunt following the 2.0 release.

Updated Forgotten Hall Store

Honkai Star Rail’s 2.0 update will introduce new Light Cones to the Forgotten Hall store. Recent leaks have unveiled 7 new Light Cones set to arrive in the Forgotten Hall Store, with one for each path.

This is particularly exciting for free-to-play (F2P) players, as the store operates solely on in-game currency obtained from the Forgotten Hall. The current version of the Forgotten Hall Store already features some excellent Light Cones, and the upcoming additions appear equally promising.

New Relic Inventory Filter, Salvageable Items & Leveling Option

In the upcoming HSR 2.0 version, a much-needed Relic Inventory filter update will be introduced. This new filter enables players to specifically filter Main and Sub stats of Relics, providing greater customization alongside filtering a specific Relic set.

Another significant addition in HSR 2.0 is the inclusion of the ‘Enhance to Next Stage‘ option. As players level up relics in HSR, the game triggers additional sub-stats (or enhances an existing one) every 3 levels of the Relic. With this new feature, players can streamline the process by opting for the Enhance to Next Stage option instead of manually optimizing Relic XPs to reach the next roll level.

Furthermore, the 2.0 update allows players to salvage Relics into Lost Gold Fragments, providing a means to maintain a tidy inventory while retaining valuable Relic XP materials.

Orlay Crossroads System – New Mission Tracker

The HSR 2.0 version will introduce the Orlay Crossroads system, serving as a comprehensive mission tracker for Trailblaze, Trailblaze Continuance, Companion, and specific Adventure missions. This system organizes missions based on their timeline and locations, providing players with a valuable tool to efficiently keep track of the unfolding story.

New Achievements

The introduction of a new explorable area in HSR’s 2.0 version also brings forth 97 new achievements, as per recent leaks. Among them are whimsical achievements such as “We get hit by a car” or “Talk to Cielo using a character shorter than her.”

In summary, this encompasses all the information available about the impending Honkai Star Rail 2.0 update. Any additional details announced by HoYoverse will be promptly updated. Feel free to share your thoughts on the 2.0 version in the comment section.
