OnePlus has kicked off 2024 with a strong start, launching the OnePlus 12 and 12R. The company’s mid-range Nord and Nord CE series have also been well-received, especially the Nord CE, which has become one of their top-selling mid-range lines. Following the success of the Nord CE3 launched in 2023, OnePlus has now announced the upcoming release of its successor, the Nord CE4. Here’s a roundup of the key details surrounding this announcement.
The Nord CE4 launch event is set for April 1st at 6:30 PM. The Nord CE4’s landing page is already live, featuring images of a Green and a Black variant. Digging into the website’s code revealed that the Nord CE4’s codename could be “Benz.”
OnePlus has confirmed that the Nord CE4 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC. This chip, based on a 4nm process, was unveiled in November 2023. It boasts an octa-core configuration and offers nearly 20% faster performance in CPU tasks and 27% faster in GPU tasks compared to the MediaTek 7200 Pro/Ultra. Additionally, it outperforms its predecessor, the 7s Gen 2, by a significant margin.
The design of the back and the camera placement of the Nord CE4 draws similarities with the Galaxy S series and Sony Xperia. This time, it appears that there will be only two cameras, unlike the three seen on the CE3. The third unit seems to be a circular LED flash, hinting at OnePlus possibly replacing the less useful 2 MP Macro with a better secondary camera. Additionally, there’s a noticeable presence of an IR blaster and a microphone hole, similar to the CE3.
Further details about the Nord CE4 are expected to be unveiled on March 14th. What are your expectations for the OnePlus Nord CE4? How much do you anticipate it will be priced at? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section!
