In a surprising move, Xiaomi bid farewell to MIUI in 2023, ushering in a new era with the introduction of HyperOS. Following this announcement last year, eager users have been anticipating the arrival of this new software experience in India. Granting this wish, Xiaomi confirmed the initial devices set to receive HyperOS in India and the schedule.
In an official tweet from the newly rebranded HyperOS India account (formerly MIUI India), Xiaomi revealed that the Xiaomi 13 Pro and Xiaomi Pad 6 will be the pioneering devices to receive the new Android 14-based HyperOS update in India.
Additionally, the company has announced that these devices are scheduled to receive the update in January 2024. As of writing, an exact rollout date has not been disclosed, but we’ll promptly update this article once more information becomes available.
We’ve recently explored the new HyperOS update, installed on the Xiaomi 14 Pro, uncovering a host of refreshing changes. Upon booting up the phone, the first noticeable change is the new logo. Subsequently, users will encounter fluid animations, a customizable lock screen reminiscent of iOS, dynamic island-like animations, a redesigned Control Center, the option to uninstall bloatware, and numerous new multitasking features.
We currently lack specific information regarding any new tablet-specific features and will provide further details once the update for the Pad 6 rolls out in India. Moreover, we’ve compiled a dedicated article listing Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO phones slated to receive the new HyperOS experience. Is your smartphone included in the list?
