Reliance AGM 2023 Unveils Jio AirFiber Launch Plans

For those eagerly anticipating the arrival of Jio AirFiber, an innovative wireless internet solution, there’s exciting news to uncover. Reliance Industries, during its 2023 Annual General Meeting (AGM), has disclosed the official launch date for AirFiber in India. This revelation follows its initial announcement at last year’s AGM. Let’s dive into the details.

Mark Your Calendar for the Jio AirFiber Launch

Mukesh D Ambani, the Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries, took center stage at AGM 2023 to confirm that Jio AirFiber wireless internet solution is set to debut On September 19, aligning with the propitious celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi.

While specific details regarding availability and pricing remain under wraps, it’s speculated that the launch might occur on the same day or shortly thereafter. Additionally, pricing is a subject of curiosity. Given Airtel’s introduction of Xstream AirFiber priced at Rs 7,294 for a six-month plan, Jio’s offering is expected to be competitively priced. Reports suggest it might come in around 20% cheaper, potentially around Rs 6,000.

Mukesh Ambani emphasized that “despite having an extensive optical fiber network spanning over 200 million locations, bringing the last phase of connectivity to people’s homes remains a formidable challenge, particularly in numerous regions across our country. This situation leaves numerous potential customers without access to home broadband due to the complications and delays in extending optical fiber connections to their residences. This is where JioAirFiber, our solution for fixed-wireless broadband, becomes valuable.

The service package encompasses the Jio AirFiber Home Gateway device, offering wireless internet access. Leveraging SA 5G architecture and Jio’s True 5G, this user-friendly device ensures effortless internet access. Compact and simple to set up, it features Wi-Fi 6 technology, a USB port, and more.

While certain specifics are still shrouded in mystery, the unveiling on September 19 is expected to shed more light. Notably, Airtel’s Xstream AirFiber boasts Wi-Fi 6 compatibility and can connect up to 64 devices concurrently. Built around Airtel 5G Plus, it features easy setup and operation through the Xstream AirFiber app. Currently available in Delhi and Mumbai, expansion to more regions is on the horizon. The extent of Jio’s AirFiber availability strategy remains to be seen.
