Much like flexwood, Frostpine stands as one of the more accessible resources within the vast expanse of LEGO Fortnite’s open world. These Frostpine trees are readily found in the Frostlands, the winter biome, sporting the appearance of regular pine trees with dark brown bark.
Scattered across snowy mountains and cold regions, these pines are conspicuous, sparing you from the need to delve into caves to acquire this resource. However, navigating the winter biome presents its own challenges, as the Arctic adventure can be spine-chilling and potentially daunting.
In LEGO Fortnite, mastering survival in frigid temperatures becomes essential. We highly recommend bringing along items like a spicy chili pepper, spicy burger, or an inner-fire charm to counter the extreme cold weather. Acquiring a rare inner-fire charm involves gathering 3 wool threads, 8 brightcore, 5 cut ruby, and 3 blast cores, providing a solution to withstand normal cold conditions.
Note: collecting sticks, woods, and logs within the Frostlands won't yield Frostpine. This resource is exclusively obtained by chopping down Frostpine trees.
These Frostpine trees are often found near grassland areas, facilitating quick trips to gather Frostpine wood. Interestingly, destroyed pine trees regenerate over time, similar to grassland trees and dry valley cacti. If you require more of this useful wood resource, revisit the same area after a while for renewed access to Frostpine.
Making the Epic Forest Axe to Farm Frostpine
Having located the Frostpines, it’s imperative to have an Epic Forest Axe to effectively harvest them. To create an Epic Forest Axe, you’ll require a forest axe with epic rarity or higher.
Crafting this specific tool involves gathering 3 copper bars and 3 knotroot rods. However, procuring these ingredients necessitates additional resources. Here are the steps to craft or obtain these crucial components for the required tools:
1. Building a Lumber Mill and Get Knotroot Rod
To obtain the knotroot rod required for crafting the Epic Forest Axe, you must first construct a Lumber Mill. Build the Lumber Mill using 8 wood and 15 granite, then press the Build button (Q on PC, Circle on PS, and B on Xbox) and position the Lumber Mill on the ground.
Knotroots can be gathered from the caves within LEGO Fortnite, and once acquired, they can be placed in the Lumber Mill for processing. After the processing is complete, retrieve the knotroot rods by selecting the Take option (W on PC, Y on Xbox, and Triangle on PS4/5).
2. Building a Metal Smelter and Get Copper Bar
To acquire a copper bar, your primary goal will be to locate copper and brightcores within the lava caves of the Dry Valley, situated in the desert biome. These resources serve as the foundational materials required for crafting the copper bar essential in creating the Epic Forest Axe.
- Construct a Metal Smelter by utilizing 15 brightcores, 35 obsidian slabs, and 3 blast cores.
- Approach the Metal Smelter and press the Interact button (E on PC, Square on PS, X on consoles) to interact with it.
- Choose the Copper Bar recipe from the menu and select the quick deposit option to input the required ingredients. Remember, one copper and two brightcores will produce one copper bar.
- Once the processing is complete, click on the Take option (W on PC, Y on Xbox, Triangle on PS) to collect the crafted copper bars from the Metal Smelter.
Note: In order to access the Epic Forest Axe recipe, it's crucial to upgrade to an epic crafting bench. This upgrade entails gathering 15 Copper Bars, 25 Obsidian Slabs, and 1 Brute Scale to enhance your rare crafting bench to the epic level.
3. Crafting the Epic Forest Axe in LEGO Fortnite
Once you’ve acquired the necessary copper bars and knotroot rods, proceed to the crafting bench. Select the Epic Forest Axe recipe, then click the Craft button located at the bottom right corner of the screen (F key on PC, X on Xbox, Square on PS, and Y on Switch) to begin crafting.
Before venturing into the winter wonderland, ensure you have multiple Epic Forest Axes in your inventory. It’s advisable to carry several of these axes, as it enables continuous chopping of Frostpine trees in the snowy mountains, allowing you to amass a substantial supply of Frostpine wood. Consider crafting a medium chest early in the game to store these axes conveniently.
