Where to Detect House of Enlightened Chest in Starfield

Starfield, much like other Bethesda RPGs, offers players various options beyond its main quests. In addition to selecting your character’s backstory in the game’s best backgrounds, you can also choose from various traits that add depth to your character. Similar to real life, Starfield allows you to select from a range of religions. One of these religions is the House of Enlightened, which promises in-game rewards to players. If you’ve chosen the Raised Enlightened trait and are eager to find the associated chest, you’ve come to the right place. Continue reading, and our step-by-step guide will lead you to the location of the House of Enlightened Chest in Starfield.

Finding the House of Enlightened in Starfield

Note: To access the House of Enlightened chest, you must select the Raised Enlightened trait at the beginning of the game. If you don't have this trait, you won't be able to proceed.

Fortunately, the House of Enlightened and its chest are located in the initial city of New Atlantis. Specifically, you can find them in an underground area known as The Well. While you’ll visit this place during your missions, you can also gain access to it independently. There are two elevators that can take you there, located in the main spaceport or MAST district areas of the city. Follow these step-by-step directions:

  • Land in the Viewport area of New Atlantis and head towards the city.

  • Climb the ramp and make your way to the “Hotel & Shopping” area next to the building we’ve indicated.

  • Look for a narrow corridor situated between Jemson Mercantile on the left and Terrabrew Coffee on the right. Walk down this corridor, and on your left, you’ll spot an elevator.

  • Enter the elevator and select “The Well” to descend.

Discovering the House of Enlightened Chest in Starfield

  • After entering The Well, proceed straight for a short distance before looking to your left.

  • You’ll notice the house situated slightly below. Carefully jump over the railing and enter the door on your left.

  • Inside, you’ll encounter Andy Singh, the leader of the house. You can choose to skip talking to him and instead head down the stairs located on the right.

  • Upon descending the stairs, take two left turns, and you’ll find the Enlightened chest right in front of you. You can now effortlessly claim all the rewards without any combat.
  • That’s it! You’ve successfully obtained the House of Enlightened Chest in Starfield. Quite simple, isn’t it?

Starfield Enlightened Chest Rewards: What You’ll Find

In terms of rewards in Starfield, The Enlightened chest offers a few basic items that may not be considered highly valuable by all players. These items include literature about their religion and an Inclement Weather Outfit, which increases the player’s health by 10. Additionally, you’ll receive other minor items like Med Packs, Snake Oil, and a milk pack.

Apart from the outfit, the contents of the enlightened chest may not provide the most valuable loot. In fact, we have a guide on how to obtain the Almagest jackpot in Starfield, which can help you easily earn around 4,000 credits. Until then, here is a list of the items you’ll find in the House of Enlightened chest:

  • Charity in a Godless Universe: Part I
  • Charity in a Godless Universe: Part II
  • Charity in a Godless Universe: Part III
  • Charity in a Godless Universe: Part IV
  • Drink Pack: Milk
  • Inclement Weather Outfit
  • 5x Med Pack
  • 2x Snake Oil

Removing the Raised Enlightened Trait in Starfield

If you’ve already claimed the chest but wish to remove the Raised Enlightened trait, you can easily do so by speaking with Andy Singh. Initiate a conversation with him, and you’ll find the option “[Raised Enlightened] I’m not sure I want to be a part of the Enlightened anymore” as the first choice. Andy will then attempt to persuade you to remain a part of the Enlightened by presenting various arguments.

After he finishes speaking, select the first two dialogue options, and Andy will ultimately agree to let you go. It’s a straightforward and amicable conversation with no complications. Once you’ve completed this dialogue, you’ll be free of the Raised Enlightened trait.
