How to Activate Fortnite 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication)

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an essential security measure integrated into nearly every internet application today. Fortnite, like many other platforms, offers 2FA to enhance the security of its users. While Fortnite is accessible on various platforms, enabling 2FA is exclusive to the Epic Games website through a web browser. Don’t worry, we’ll guide you through the process of enabling Fortnite 2FA right here!

How to Enable 2FA on Fortnite

To begin, visit the Epic Games login page and sign in to your account. If you’re looking to enable 2FA for your PS5 Fortnite account, choose PS5 login, or for an Xbox account, select Xbox login. Once you’re logged in, follow these steps:

1. Click or hover over the profile button and select Account.

2. Choose Password & Security from the menu.

3. Scroll down and select a Two-factor Authentication method.

1. Authenticator App

Once you’ve reached the Two-factor Authentication page, you can choose from several third-party apps to enable 2FA for Fortnite. Options include Google Authenticator, LastPass Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy. After downloading one of these apps, follow these steps to set it up:

1. Click the Set Up button next to the Two-factor Authenticator app option.

2. Select Continue when prompted.

3. Scan the QR code from your Authenticator app.

4. Enter the security code and click Activate app.

2. 2FA Through Email

If you prefer not to use a third-party app, you can enable 2FA through email. If you create an Epic account using any email, 2FA is automatically activated. Otherwise, follow these steps:

1. Choose the Set Up option for Email Two-Factor Authentication.

2. Open the email associated with your Epic account and copy the security code.

3. Paste the code and click Enable Email Authentication.

3. 2FA Through SMS

Managing both email and an Authenticator app can be cumbersome. That’s why Epic offers the option to enable 2FA through SMS. Here’s how you can do it:

1. Choose the Set Up SMS Code for 2FA option.

2. Enter your country code and phone number, then click Continue.

3. Input the security code from the SMS and click Enable SMS Authentication.

Rewards for Enabling 2FA on Fortnite

In addition to securing your valuable Fortnite account, enabling 2FA also unlocks specific rewards. Players who activate 2FA in Fortnite receive the Boogie Down emote. Moreover, those who own the Save the World campaign will receive the following items:

1. 50 Armory Slots

2. 10 Backpack Slots

3. 1 Legendary Troll Stash Llama

Aside from the rewards, remember that this is a crucial security measure if you want to safeguard your progress in Chapter 5 Season 3 or your battle pass items. Have you enabled 2FA on Fortnite? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
