Black Myth: Wukong Benchmark Tool Released; Check If Your PC is Ready

Black Myth: Wukong is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated RPGs of 2024. Game Science, the studio developing the game, has already revealed the PC requirements needed to run it. Instead of just generating hype, Game Science is taking a practical approach by offering an official “Black Myth: Wukong Benchmark Tool” on Steam, allowing players to test their systems’ readiness for the game.

Black Myth: Wukong Benchmark Tool Released

The official Black Myth: Wukong Benchmark Tool was launched earlier today. Designed to evaluate your system’s compatibility and hardware performance, it renders an in-game scene in real time, allowing you to test various graphical presets and find the optimal settings for your setup.

Please note that this tool is not a playable demo of Black Myth: Wukong. It’s intended solely to determine if your PC can handle the game. I ran the benchmarks on my setup (specs shown in the image) today using the “Cinematic Preset” with very high ray tracing and Frame Generation enabled. Here are the results:

By experimenting with the various options, I was able to identify the optimal settings for when the game launches next week. The final results generally aligned with the recommended specs provided by Game Science.

However, it’s important to remember that this does not reflect the final gaming experience. As the developers have stated:

Fans online are currently applauding the release of the Benchmark Tool, which helps players prepare for the game’s launch. In my view, the Black Myth: Wukong Benchmark Tool is a great example of a symbiotic relationship.

While gamers can experiment with different graphical settings to find their ideal configuration, developers can collect valuable data from players’ systems. This creates a win-win situation for everyone involved. I believe other studios could benefit from following Game Science’s lead by introducing their own benchmark tools for upcoming games, as it proves to be beneficial for everyone involved.

However, some users have reported occasional crashes with the tool, preventing them from running the benchmarks. Game Science has yet to release any updates addressing this issue, so if you encounter problems during your test, keep an eye out for fixes.

If you’ve successfully run the benchmarks, feel free to share the performance results of your setup in the comments below.
