At WWDC 2024, Apple unveiled its highly anticipated AI-enhanced Siri, dedicating a significant portion of the keynote to Apple Intelligence features and advancements in Siri. While the official release of these features is still forthcoming, resourceful users have already discovered a method to access the new Siri UI online. It’s important to note that this method only provides access to the new user interface, and the advanced AI features showcased at the keynote are not yet available.
NOTE : As this feature is currently in the testing phase, it may lead to unexpected app crashes. We advise against trying it on your primary device.
- First, install the macOS Sequoia developer beta on your Mac. Before doing so, check which Macs are compatible with macOS Sequoia.
- After installing the beta, open Terminal by searching for it using Spotlight.
- Next, enter this command into the Terminal and press Enter.
defaults write com.apple.assistant bypassDeviceSupportsSAE -bool true
- Then, type killall Siri in the Terminal and press Enter. Voila! You’ll see the new Siri interface on your Mac.
- Restart your Mac to display the new Siri icon in the menu bar as well.
- To revert to the previous Siri UI, enter the following command in Terminal.
defaults write com.apple.assistant bypassDeviceSupportsSAE -bool false
- Again, type killall Siri in the Terminal again and press Enter to get the old Siri UI back.
The command above modifies default system files and bypasses checks to enable the new Siri interface.
Currently, some colleagues who have tried this method are experiencing issues with the new Siri UI. If you encounter any problems with Siri features, you can revert back to the previous setup.
Regarding the new Siri UI, I prefer the old one personally. While the new design is minimal and refreshed, I’ll miss the nostalgia of the old Siri animation once the new version, complete with its updated icon and UI, officially rolls out.
