Explore the Best Medium Builds in The Finals

Medium serves as both a support and assault class in The Finals, offering players the flexibility to explore various builds. For newcomers seeking experimentation, this guide is tailored for you. We suggest one support and one assault build for medium-class players, providing insights into the purpose of each device in their arsenal. Whether you aim to bolster your team or dismantle opponents, these medium-class builds are designed to empower you on the battlefield.

Cashout Support Build

Weapon: AKM or FCAR
Gadget: Gas mine, Defibrillator, Goo Grenade
Specialization: Healing Beam or Turret

In The Finals, our initial exploration led us to a build we’ve coined the “Cashout Support.” As the name suggests, this build positions you as the primary support system for your team, safeguarding the cashout. This setup synergizes effectively with our initiator light build in The Finals, providing valuable assistance during intense gunfights. When executed proficiently, this build has the potential to render the team virtually unstoppable.

Weapon

When it comes to weaponry, we propose considering two distinct guns instead of restricting yourself to just one. We recommend experimenting with both the AKM and FCAR in the training course, allowing you to choose the one that aligns better with your preferences.

Our primary endorsement for this build leans towards the AKM, a firearm readily available for the medium class. The AKM stands out as a versatile option, suitable for users of all skill levels with a relatively low skill ceiling. Its damage potential is noteworthy, capable of eliminating opponents within a magazine of 36 bullets when shots are accurately lined up. The primary drawbacks associated with this weapon are its recoil and limited bullet range.

Opting for our second weapon, the FCAR, involves unlocking it for 800 VRS (in-game currency). The FCAR can be viewed as an enhanced version of the AKM, complete with a holo attachment. However, it comes with a 20-bullet magazine, offering improved firing range compared to the AKM. Additionally, the FCAR boasts a faster reload time and slightly higher damage per bullet.

For those inclined to prioritize gadgets over unlocking the FCAR, sticking with the AKM remains a viable and straightforward choice. Sometimes, simplicity, as some wise person once said, proves to be the best option.

Gadget

When it comes to gadgets, we’re selecting top-tier support items, excluding any grenades that inflict damage on your opponents. Our three picks include a gas mine, a defibrillator, and a goo grenade, all readily available from the start, eliminating the need to spend VRS on them.

The gas mine serves the purpose of disorienting and gradually damaging opponents attempting to secure the cashout. Strategically place these mines around key points in the cashout zone, anticipating the opponents’ approach. Upon triggering the mine, they’ll experience health loss, allowing you to intercept them with your reliable AKM.

Our second gadget of choice is the defibrillator, commonly referred to as the “defib.” This proves to be a crucial item within this build. While traditional respawns for fallen teammates take a few seconds, the defib accomplishes the task almost instantly with a simple click. Consequently, we leverage this gadget to swiftly revive teammates, minimizing downtime and promptly rejoining the action.

Lastly, the goo grenade remains in our arsenal for instances where temporary cover is needed to defend the cashbox. Disperse a few grenades around the floor near the cashout box and secure your position. This not only aids in holding out and claiming the money but also serves as a tactical advantage. As goo grenades can temporarily halt bullets, you find yourself in a secure position, allowing you to regather your composure.

Specialization

In terms of specialization, we present two distinct choices tailored for different scenarios. If your aim is to actively engage in combat alongside your team, providing firepower, then opt for turrets. These are automated turrets strategically placed around the cashout area. As opponents enter their range, the turrets automatically open fire, necessitating a full magazine to eliminate them.

On the other hand, the healing beam offers an alternative specialization, allowing for a classic Overwatch-style pocket medic approach. Channel the healing beam consistently onto your team members as they engage opponents. In this scenario, your primary responsibility is ensuring the survival of your light and heavy players, enabling them to protect the cashout or pilfer one from the opponent.

Medium Assault Build

Weapon: AKM or FCAR
Gadget: Pyro Grenade, Jump Pad, Defibrillator
Specialization: Recon Senses

Diverging from the more passive role assumed in the support build, this configuration positions you as a formidable DPS, actively contributing to your team’s success. The gadgets incorporated into the assault build serve to enhance your dominance on the battlefield, and the chosen specialization aids in effectively detecting and eliminating enemies.

In essence, this build is tailored not only to facilitate your team’s domination in The Finals but also places a specific emphasis on empowering you, the player.

Weapon

When it comes to weaponry, once again, we highly suggest opting for the FCAR, prioritizing it over the AKM this time. Given that this build is primarily geared towards being a formidable DPS, the focus is on employing an assault rifle that inflicts damage on opponents regardless of their distance.

The FCAR proves advantageous in this context, featuring improved recoil and an extended bullet travel distance, courtesy of its holo attachment. Therefore, our recommendation is to unlock and utilize the FCAR for this particular build. Alternatively, if FCAR is not available, employing the AKM is a viable strategy to secure victories and accumulate enough VRS to unlock the desired firearm.

Gadget

In terms of gadgets, the focus for this build shifts towards enhancing movement and inflicting damage. As such, our selection includes the Pyro Grenade, the Jump Pad, and the Defibrillator.

The Pyro Grenade, upon impact, engulfs everything in its vicinity, including your goo, in flames. This aligns with our strategy of adopting an attack-first approach, aiming to effectively damage opponents right from the start. While a frag grenade is an alternative, it takes time to take effect after impact. Opting for pyro grenades ensures immediate results, aligning with our preference for swift and impactful actions.

As for the third gadget, we’re sticking with the Defibrillator, as it proves immensely useful even in the heat of battles. Pausing your assault for a brief moment to use the defib can swiftly bring a teammate back to life, providing a strategic advantage. With no downtime in fights, you can maintain a relentless assault on your opponents.

For movement and evasion purposes, our choice is the jump pad. This tool allows you to navigate challenging areas and avoid enemy sightlines effectively. The jump pad provides valuable verticality, enabling you to escape from rooftops and catch opponents off guard, adding an element of surprise to your approach.

Specialization

Concluding our setup, we’ve opted for the Recon Senses specialization for this build, emphasizing additional information gathering. This specialization enables us to peer through walls, providing insight into the positions of enemies and facilitating their elimination. However, it’s worth noting that engaging distant players while utilizing Recon Senses may result in reduced damage. Given our approach of taking the fight directly to the opponents, we recommend leveraging this specialization.

In summary, these are the two medium builds we’ve devised for new players in The Finals. Ultimately, the key lies in experimentation and adapting your playstyle to the game. Feel free to share if you’ve crafted any unique medium-class builds in The Finals.
